Slovenia is among the countries with the largest decline in the competitiveness scale
Slovenia is among the countries with the largest decline on this year's competitiveness scale of the IMD Institute. Among 64 countries, it ranks 40th or five places less than last year. Slovenia experienced the largest drop in the corona year in terms of government and business efficiency.
Slovenia's competitive advantages are international trade, income equality, education and health, and the environment. It is completely at the tail end of the assessed countries in terms of the state of incoming investments, the tax burden on labor and labor law, the efficiency of supervisory boards, and aviation connectivity. Among the areas where the country made the most progress last year was employment, while public finance, business legislation, and the digital transformation of the economy fell behind.
