Sustainability is not a fad, but a necessity, as is the transformation of management. That was the main message of the MQ Conference 2021, which we hosted on 10th of June on the idyllic Račji otok (Duck Island) at Brdo pri Kranju estate. The current manager of the year Enzo Smrekar stressed: "If companies are not sustainable, they will lose markets and consumers and this is not a business model that would survive."

The participants of the round table on the transformation of companies also agreed with this: John Denhof (Nova KBM), Lucija Sajevec (AMZS), Gregor Pilgram (Generali), and Zooullis Mina (Pivovarna Laško Union), who pointed out that today the company's goal is not just to maximize profits for owners because they are now only one of the stakeholders - important stakeholders are also customers, employees, partners, society, and the environment.
