The Managers' Association invited to the G7 Women Forum in Rome
On 7 and 8 April the international forum Inequality and Sustainable Growth: Starting from Girls took place in Rome under the auspices of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Italy, presiding G7, organised the event so that at the coming summit in Rome the G7 leaders would be able to treat the proposals related primarily to the position of women. The forum took place for the first time and was organised at an extremely high level. The two initiators, the highly respected former Italian foreign minister and European commissioner Emma Boninoand Dr Marta Dassu, invited experts from all over the world (from UN Women, WHO, EU, World Economic Forum), who prepared initiatives on how to promote equality through efficient policies. Working groups were formed within the forum to address issues such as social inequality and its impact on democracy, economic and health status of women, and women migrants. Sonja Šmuc, Executive Director of the Association, as the only representative of Slovenia, emphasised: "The issue of inequality is an issue of both the democratic and economic development of each society."
Owing to its activities and involvement in these issues, which remain a persisting problem in the modern world, the Managers' Association is thus becoming a visible organisation in the international arena as well.
